(single-user license)
The Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa (hereafter "licensor"), registered offices in Piazza dei Cavalieri n. 7, 56126, Pisa, Italy Italian Taxpayer’s Code 8000 5050507, VAT Code 00420000507, here represented, with the powers expressly conferred to her, by its general manager, Dott. Ilaria Adamo, pursuant to and by the effect of articles 1326 and following of the Italian Civil Code, tenders the following
proposal for a contract of transfer
to ________________________________________________________________________________________________, registered offices in
____________________________________________________________, represented by _____________________________________________,
(hereafter "Licensee") the non-exclusive
license to use the application SNS-Greek & Latin 6.1 for Mac OS X (hereafter "Software") under
the following conditions:
1) The Licensor assures and guarantees that it is the exclusive holder of the property rights of the Software.
2) The Licensee has the right to possess and use the binary executable code of this software product and the relative
documentation only and to use it on a single machine.
3) The Software must be utilized only for the ends for which use was transferred and in any and all events in respect
of current Italian regulations in particular regarding the laws protecting the copyright.
4) Installation is the responsibility of the licensee and is at his/her own risk. Delivery by registered parcel
will be made against payment of the pro-forma invoice.
5) The Licensee must not use the product on other systems owned by him/her different from the one intended and must
not give the product to third parties for any reason or in any form.
6) The Licensee will install the Software exclusively on a single machine. To that end, the Software may not be
transferred onto processing systems different from that on which it was installed for at least six months from delivery
of the product. If transferred, the Licensee undertakes to remove the product from the former processing system.
7) The Licensee undertakes to respect all the regulations for using:
a) the CD Thesaurus Linguae Graecae owned by the University of California, Irvine,
b) the CD PHI#5.3, containing Latin texts, and PHI #7, containing documentary papyri and inscriptions, owned by
the Packard Humanities Institute.
The Licensee undertakes to respect all the regulations for using the goods referenced in points a) and b) above,
defined, respectively, by the Regents of the University of California, Irvine, and by the Packard Humanities Institute,
regulations which are herein integrally referred to and included.
8) The Licensee may not copy, rent, hire, grant in licensing or otherwise transfer all or part of the software,
without the prior and express consent of the Licensor.
9) The Licensee may use, together with the Software and at her/his own risk, third-party software or machinery.
The Licensor does not assume or supply any guaranty or declaration, expressed or implicit, about the quality, the
abilities, the operations, the performance or the suitability of the software or of the third-party machinery.
10) The Licensor will not be responsible for indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages (including damages
deriving from the loss of business, profits or similar matters) as a contractual or extra-contractual responsibility,
except in the cases of malice or serious fault and except for the damages deriving from responsibility of the producer.
11) No licence, right or interest in any of the registered trademarks, commercial names or service names of the Licensor
is transferred with the present contract. All rights not explicitly transferred with the present contract are expressly
reserved to the Licensor.
12) The Licensor retains the right to present improved or/and corrected versions which will be offered at a special price
to those who have previously purchased the version 6.1.
13) The price for the program is 155.00 Euros. For users already in possession of earlier versions of SNS-Greek & Latin
for Macintosh or for Windows the price for the program is 50.00 Euros. Undergraduate and graduate students can purchase
one single-user license for 25.00 Euros. Student licenses can only be purchased by students with proof of eligibility
(e.g., student ID) which has to be sent together with the order form. Student licenses are personal licenses and cannot
be purchased by or through institutions or organizations. A program purchased under a student license must NOT be installed
on an institutional computer. The price includes version 6.1 of the program and a user's manual.
The price including only the SNS-E indexes for TLG E is 80.00 Euros. The SNS-E indexes require SNS-Greek & Latin 6.1
which must be purchased separately at the prices above.
14) This contract may be modified only in writing. Italian law will be applied for any matters not expressly indicated,
and the place of jurisdiction is Pisa.
15) This contract proposal contains two pages and is drawn up in duplicate originals. The contract will be finalized at
the moment in which express and explicit acceptance of the same is received by the Scuola Normale Superiore along with
proof of payment

license.
14) This contract may be modified only in writing. Italian law will be applied for any matters not expressly indicated,
and the place of jurisdiction is Pisa.
